Recently our friends from the Craig Hospital Adventure Program joined us for 1.5 days of rafting on the Arkansas River. This is always a highlight of our summer! We take folks out of their chair to experience this amazing adventure. They started with an intermediate trip on Bighorn Sheep Canyon and then added the Class IV+ Royal Gorge because they had so much fun! When you know someone who doesn’t think they can go rafting, share this video of folks who are not going to be denied adventure in the outdoors! Craig Hospital Rafting Adventure video.
We are back in the Royal Gorge after 2 weeks of flows in excess of 3200 cfs. Now the flows are perfect for whitewater adventure in the Royal Gorge, Bighorn Sheep Canyon and Brown’s Canyon. We are expecting fantastic, sustained flows all summer with all the reservoirs being full.

Yesterday we set an all time high water level of 6300 cubic feet per second. Yes, it is high but here is the good thing. The Arkansas River has many access points and various sections so ALL trips for ALL levels are still available! We simply move itineraries around for the appropriate trip. EVERYONE is having fun out there! And the heat is on with temperature hitting the high 80’s and low 90’s.

We are open for the 2015 Float Fishing season! Hungry fish are cooperating to make this a great start to the season. Flows are conducive for a great fry emergence and the water is clear. We are focusing on baetis hatches and caddis are not far behind having started hatching in Canon City. Of course, streamers from the boat are still my favorite way to go!
Salida, CO – Mumford & Sons are pleased to announce the details of their forthcoming Gentlemen of the Road Stopover in Salida, CO on August 21st and 22nd. The Stopover includes numerous internationally acclaimed artists, including The Flaming Lips, Dawes, Jenny Lewis, The Vaccines, TuneYards, James Vincent McMorrow, JEFF The Brotherhood, Blake Mills and more to be announced.
There are four Stopover locations in North America, each a two-day event that combines the intimacy of a community celebration with the excitement of a world-class music festival. Mumford & Sons will headline the Saturday shows. A series of smaller events involving local businesses, venues, and, most importantly, local people will happen in and around the town.
About this year’s upcoming Stopover tour, Mumford & Sons said: “The Gentlemen of the Road Stopovers are all about live music. We get to put them on in towns not normally frequented by touring bands in busses or splitter vans. We deliberately look for towns that have something unique, or some vibe of which they are proud, explore them and enjoy what they have to offer.”
Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. local time on March 6th from www.gentlemenoftheroad.com/tickets. Please visit the website for all ticket details.
Yes , we will be offering rafting specials for the festival goers before and after the show!
