GROUP ORGANIZER INFORMATION

Rafting with a group of your family members, friends or co-workers can be an exhilarating experience. What could be more fun than rafting with people you choose! We strive to make organizing your group an easy experience. Groups of ten or more are entitled to a discount on all Arkansas River trips. The organizer goes free with 15 or more paying participants! DETERMINING THE TRIP
The Arkansas River has trips for all ages and abilities. Bighorn Sheep Canyon and Brown’s Canyon are suitable for all levels of experience in paddle or oar boats. We offer ¼, ½ and full day trips appropriate for all ages. Visit our trip pages for detailed explanations. The Royal Gorge is a trip for groups looking for the ultimate whitewater experience. First time rafters in excellent shape may join experienced rafters for this ultimate whitewater adventure. The convenience of our riverside location allows group members to actually run different trips and return to our base within a short time of each other. For example, group members coming off of our Royal Gorge full day trip can easily hook-up with other members of the group coming back from the ¼ day Cottonwood Family Float, ½ day Bighorn Sheep Canyon trip or full day Bighorn Sheep Canyon trip. Enjoy our riverside picnic area before or after your trip or while you are waiting for other trips to return. Who knows, you may see our local Bighorn Sheep herd on the Cotopaxi cliffs or drinking at the river’s edge!

CAMPING ON OVERNIGHT TRIPS
Our convenient riverside camping and picnic area at our Cotopaxi base is the perfect retreat at the day’s end to share the day’s adventure. Enjoy a sumptuous meal with your own private campfire under the Colorado stars. We have permanent tents available with decks and cots. Combining 2 or 3 sections of the Arkansas River with camping is a very popular group activity.

RESERVATIONS
Advanced reservations are necessary to insure your choice of dates. Organizers should collect a 50% deposit to confirm the trip. The balance is due 30 days prior to the launch date.

HELPFUL HINT: Experienced organizers suggest collecting full payment rather than deposits. This helps to eliminate chasing group members for outstanding payments. Remember this is supposed to be fun !

Groups are subject to a $20 per person cancellation fee if you cancel within 7 days of the trip date. We run our trips rain or shine and reserve the right to change trip itineraries due to weather, water levels or factors outside of our control.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISK FORM
All participants must read, understand and sign our Acknowledgement of Risk form. Parents or Guardians must sign for minors under 18 years old. It is suggested that parents of minors traveling with a group have the forms signed before the group leaves home. Organizers should have all the participants’ forms signed if possible before arriving for the trip. This will help get you on the river quicker!

Arkansas River Tours offers wilderness trips that are perfect for group adventures. These trips have limited launch dates and group sizes.
