Teen Whitewater Camp, Colorado
DISCOVER THE WET, WILD WORLD OF WHITEWATER
RAFTING!
This unique adventure enables teenagers
to safely learn the skills necessary to guide rafts through the challenging
whitewater of the Arkansas River. Our professional
guides provide supportive instruction with individual attention. Our camp
instructors are whitewater experts with a genuine interest in teaching
teenagers river skills. Training will include paddling techniques,
understanding river currents, rapids and obstacles, safety procedures and river
rescue techniques. We will use sections of the river conducive to teaching
beginners. By the end of the week, participants will progress to running class
III - IV rapids. Safety is our utmost priority. We will also explore
environmental issues pertaining to the river setting.
Camping will be at our base in Cotopaxi. Participants
should bring their own camping equipment. Rentals are available on a limited
basis. The instructors will be camping with participants. Food will be provided
from lunch on the first day through lunch on the last day. Games such as
volleyball and horseshoes are available for evening activities.
Do something different this summer! Join us for an
opportunity to learn a new sport, make new friends and enjoy the
outdoors.
We run this program for groups of 6 or more
participants. This is a perfect program for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts,
school groups or a group of friends.
